About Rahma

Mahlet Bushra Hussein is HOBBE Tech. Co.'s Public Relations Manager and Regional Project Assessment Lead, based in Jimma. She is the person at HOBBE whose work ensures that the company's impact is not confined to boardrooms and server rooms — but is felt in institutions, communities, and the conversations that shape how technology is understood and adopted across Ethiopia.

A gifted communicator and natural connector of people, Rahma brings a discipline and warmth to public relations that is rare in the technology sector. She understands that for a technology company like HOBBE to be trusted by the organizations it serves — whether government agencies, enterprise clients or community institutions — that trust must be built through consistent, honest and meaningful communication. That is the work she leads every day.

Public Relations & Communications

As HOBBE's lead for public relations, Rahma is responsible for shaping the company's external narrative, managing institutional relationships, and ensuring that HOBBE's work is communicated clearly and compellingly to all stakeholders. This involves crafting announcements for major partnerships and product launches, managing media relationships, coordinating with government and institutional partners, and representing HOBBE at engagements across Ethiopia.

Her communications approach is grounded in substance over style. She believes that HOBBE's story — a technology company built from scratch in Ethiopia, delivering world-class systems for real organizations — is genuinely compelling on its own. Her job is to tell it with clarity, consistency and the depth it deserves. The result is a public identity for HOBBE that reflects both the seriousness of the company's technical work and the warmth of the people behind it.

Project Assessment & Regional Impact

Beyond communications, Rahma plays a critical operational role as HOBBE's Regional Project Assessment Lead for the Jimma region. In this capacity, she is responsible for evaluating the real-world impact of HOBBE's projects at the community and institutional level — gathering qualitative and quantitative data on deployment outcomes, identifying gaps between what systems promise and what they deliver, and translating those findings back into improvements.

This work places Rahma at the intersection of technology and its human consequences. It requires her to engage with end users, community leaders, and local officials who may have limited technology familiarity — and to do so with the patience, respect and listening skills that her role demands. Her assessments have directly informed product improvements and have helped HOBBE build a more grounded, needs-driven approach to technology deployment in communities outside the capital.

Leadership & Team Building

Rahma is also a team leader who brings a steady, collaborative approach to the people she works with. She creates environments where team members feel heard, where responsibilities are clear, and where the work connects meaningfully to something larger than the immediate task. Her leadership style prioritizes trust, clear communication and shared purpose — values that naturally align with the broader culture Mahfuz and Khalid have built at HOBBE.

Personal

Based in Jimma, Rahma is a proud representative of HOBBE's commitment to building a company whose reach, influence and impact extends far beyond Addis Ababa. She embodies the belief that talent is distributed across Ethiopia — and that great companies are built by finding it, nurturing it, and giving it the platform to do meaningful work.
