HOBBE Tech. Co. Launches Government Technology Division

HOBBE Tech. Co. today announced the formal establishment of a dedicated Government & Institutions Technology Division, created to address the growing demand for public sector digitalization, infrastructure automation, and secure government platform development across Ethiopia.

The new division formalizes and scales what has been a core practice area for HOBBE since its founding — the development of technology systems for government agencies, public institutions, and development sector organizations. With the establishment of a dedicated division, HOBBE is making a structural commitment to serving the public sector with the focus, depth of expertise, and operational accountability that large-scale government technology programs require.

The Public Sector Technology Imperative

Ethiopia's government digitalization agenda — driven by national policy frameworks including the Ten Year Development Plan and the Digital Ethiopia 2025 Strategy — has created unprecedented demand for capable local technology partners who can design, build and deploy systems that serve millions of citizens. This demand has historically been met primarily by international technology firms, but the Ethiopian government and its institutions have increasingly recognized the strategic importance of developing domestic technology capacity that understands the local context.

Division Capabilities

The Government & Institutions Technology Division will focus on four core service areas: digital infrastructure design and deployment for government agencies; institutional management systems for ministries, bureaus, and public organizations; secure platform development for sensitive government applications; and advisory services for government digital transformation programs.

The division will be staffed by engineers and specialists with experience in government security requirements, data governance frameworks, and the specific operational constraints of public sector technology deployment in Ethiopia.
